ACID RESISTANT TILE
Acid resistant tiles are acid resistant, heavy duty ceramic tiles manufactured to provide chemical and wear resistant floors and linings for chemical, food & beverage plants in conjunction with Erocare acid resistant fixing materials.
It resistant to most acids (except hydrofluoric), alkalis, solvents, oils, fats and cleaning solutions. It has low water absorption to resist the penetration of strong chemicals and to ensure hygiene in food applications.
Low absorption rates are essential to ensure dangerous chemicals do not penetrate the ceramic lining systems. Acid tiles are available in a multitude of special size to ensure complex and sometimes very large shapes can be lined in a manner maximising chemical and abrasion resistance.
Acid tiles are commonly much thicker then conventional tiles. Typical acid tiles are up to 20 mm thick, whereas most commercial floor tiles are 5–9 mm thick only. This additional thickness contributes to high strength and a highly chemical resistant ceramic lining capability.
